City, Sand and Discovery

What a beautiful sunny winter’s day for another City to Sea adventure!

We began in the City, taking time to admire the buildings and familiar places surrounding our preschool. Just across the zebra crossing, we noticed some new flags flying. One particular flag caught our attention, sparking curiosity and questions. We weren’t quite sure what it was, so we became researchers, looking closely and finding out more together.

Then it was time to head towards the Sea, where the sand became our playground and our hands became our tools. We dug tunnels, buried friends, scooped, sifted and explored the difference between the dry and wet sand.

Every dig revealed a new treasure….sea sponges, rocks, shells and pieces of driftwood were just a few of our findings.

Our City to Sea adventures are full of opportunities to wonder, investigate, connect with our community and learn through play. Today reminded us that sometimes the smallest discoveries can lead to the biggest questions.
