Winter Coastal Adventures

Our City to Sea adventures look a little different during the winter months. We’ve noticed the changing season and can certainly feel the freshness in the air as we make our way along the coastline.

We’ve been a little unlucky with the weather this term, but today we finally had the opportunity to head out and notice the beautiful changes happening around us.

The waves were spraying as the wind blew a little stronger than usual, creating a very different coastal experience. We stopped along the steps to sketch what we could see, taking time to look closely at the ocean, the coastline and the changing sky.

With our binoculars in hand, we watched carefully for whales and dolphins, wondering what might be moving beneath the surface.

These experiences give children the opportunity to slow down, observe, wonder and connect with Country and our local coastline in meaningful ways.
