The first day of spring!

As we ventured across Civic Park, one of the first things the children noticed was the smell of freshly cut grass and flowers in the air. Spring had arrived, and we could see and feel the changes happening all around us.

Today, we had a special intention for our City to Sea adventure. We wanted to thank the lovely lady we have come to recognise on every beach visit  the lady who feeds the seagulls.

We stopped for our morning tea, sitting together in the sunshine and taking in the beautiful surroundings. We talked about the changes we could see and feel as we welcomed the first day of spring.

It wasn't long before the lady arrived.

The children proudly presented her with a beautiful handmade thank-you card they had created. She was completely surprised and so excited. She hadn't expected it at all!

What happened next was something quite special. This one small act of kindness resonated throughout our NCP family. The children experienced the joy of giving, the joy of making someone else smile, and the feeling that even a small gesture can make a difference.

As we walked back to preschool, a new idea began to grow.

What if we did this more often?

What if we looked around our community and found little ways to bring smiles to other people's faces?

And so, from one small thank-you, our NCP Random Acts of Kindness Project was born.

We can't wait to see where kindness takes us next.
